Insurance Valuation
When you want insurance cover against loss or damage of your most cherished items of jewellery, your insurer will need a professional valuation. To make sure you receive the correct sum in the event of a claim, you need a qualified IRV valuer to examine your jewellery and to produce a formal document giving a precise description of each piece and confirming how their value has been determined. Due to fluctuating market conditions, it is important to keep your jewellery valuation updated every 3-5 years for peace of mind and protection of your items.
Probate Valuation
A Probate Valuation is a written report that describes the jewellery and its value to calculate inheritance tax.

A probate valuation completed in compliance with HM Revenues & Customs and in accordance with Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984 is required for legal authorities (HRMC, executors, solicitors) and represents the amount it would fetch on the open market or at auction.
