Gem's Colour Influence

Writer's picture: ALMAZ jewellery valuationsALMAZ jewellery valuations

"Colour is a power which directly influences the soul", said Russian avant-garde artist Wassily Kandinsky. How very true! We are subconsciously experiencing colour influence every day in our life. Colour can give us a signal or indication, it can give us instructions or a clue: red lipstick, green traffic light, red stop sign, yellow tie, black dress. Colour is around us, including coloured gems. Annushka's favourite colour is blue. Blue is the colour of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. In gems, it symbolises trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, a blue gemstone brings positive vibrations along with it: blue topaz, blue aquamarine, blue sapphire, blue tanzanite, blue apatite, blue tourmaline, blue iolite, blue lapis - lazuli. Persians considered blue turquoise as a protection against the evil eye. Whilst blue sapphire nowadays is considered to be the most popular choice for an engagement ring, after diamond.

Match you blue gemstones with a blue dress and a blue belt :-)
